glands have doubled in size since week 20, and will double again before the end
of pregnancy.Breathing
movements become more common, occurring 30 – 40 percent of the time in an
average fetus.
Starting
at 32 weeks, true alveoli, or air “pocket” cells, begin forming from alveolar
ducts. Development of alveoli continues through birth and until about 8 years
of age.
Sleep
patterns follow circadian rhythms starting in the 28 week fetus.
